Last.fm

I have been using Last.fm for quite sometime now. Today I have scrobbled song number 30,000!
This is not that much actually, considering that I have missed tons because the use of my iPod shuffle is not included. Also tons of songs were not scrobbled because of the conflicts that occurred when syncing both an iPod and iPhone to iTunes… Fortunately, I have an iPhone app that scrobbles tracks directly.
Today I have been searching for some nice visualizations and statistics based on my Last.fm history.
Here is a list (compiled from various sources):
- Lastgraph 3 – display timelines, artist statistics and great posters. The posters might take some time to render, but they are beautiful!
- Musicmapper-Webservices Overview Page - a number of web services to generate statistics based on the Last.fm profile. I do not really understand the output though
- Mainstream-O-Meter – Calculate how mainstream your music taste is.
- AEP-calculator – A page to calculate your AEP. Check the description on the page.
- Tools by Anthony Liekens:
- How eclectic is your musical style? – Don’t worry it is explained on the page.
- Level 2 of the muscial eclectic test.
- Compare user tag clouds – A tool to compare the tag clouds of two last.fm accounts. By the same author as the previous item.
- And another tool by this author: generate your Last.fm tag cloud.

- Last forward – an desktop application to create a visualization of Last.fm neighbours, etc.
- Last.fm tools by shoxrocks – some tools to create tag clouds, average neighbours overview, etc.
- Turn your Last.fm info into a Wordle – requires some manual copy-and-paste but I like the idea. Wordle is a tool to create cool tag clouds.
- Overview of Last.fm related visualization projects.
- … (to be continued)
Have fun!
